Our Journey
Art is never merely decoration; it is an invitation to engage with memory, emotion, and reflection. NJIA was founded by Monique Naudé, born out of a profound personal inspiration to bring the soul-awakening fine-art and functional luxury masterpieces of South African artist Veronica Coetzer directly into European homes and living spaces.
NJIA—meaning "The Path" or "The Way"—
The Artistic Inspiration: Veronica Coetzer
At the heart of every piece curated by NJIA is the visual world of Veronica Coetzer — South African fine-art photographer, digital artist, creative educator, safari leader, storyteller, and dream-inspired artist.
Veronica’s work lives at the meeting place of nature, dreams, beauty, resilience, and personal transformation. Her images are not created merely to decorate a space; they are created to carry feeling, meaning, and story. Through wildlife, flowers, landscapes, symbolic imagery, and layered visual narratives, her art invites comfort, wonder, reflection, and a deep connection to the natural world.
Her professional journey is rooted in decades of creative practice and leadership. On 14 February 1992, Veronica established The Photographer Studio in South Africa — a creative home that became the foundation for her work in portraiture, fine-art photography, education, and visual storytelling. From this base, her artistic path expanded into international exhibitions, wildlife photography, dream-inspired digital art, creative teaching, and photographic safaris across Southern Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, and beyond.
Art Beyond Decoration
Every piece within NJIA’s functional art collections is carefully chosen from Veronica’s lifetime of work. We believe that art can do more than beautify a room. It can comfort, restore, inspire, and connect.
Wildlife and natural landscapes are central to Veronica’s visual language. They become symbols of courage, tenderness, protection, freedom, survival, and renewal. A lion may speak of strength. A bird may suggest hope. A flower may hold gentleness. A blanket may become more than a product — it may become a tangible way “to make you feel my love.”
A key inspiration behind this collection is Veronica’s deeply personal body of work, “The Marrow of My Soul.” This signature range brings together photography, digital artistry, symbolic layering, dream imagery, botanical elements, and emotional storytelling. It explores identity, healing, transformation, and the quiet strength of the human spirit.
Through NJIA, these artworks are thoughtfully translated into premium functional art — including fine-art fleece blankets, personalised textile pieces, tote bags, cosmetic bags, cushions, and meaningful gifts. Each item brings Veronica’s visual stories into daily life: to be wrapped around a child, carried through a city, placed in a home, or given as a gift with love.
Art with a Purpose
For Veronica, a blanket has always carried a deeper meaning.
Her slogan, “to make you feel my love,” expresses the heart behind this work. A blanket can offer warmth, softness, dignity, and comfort. It can become a gift that says: you are held, you are loved, you are not alone.
As part of this vision, selected blanket projects are connected to charitable giving, including blankets created for children suffering from serious illness and for children and families who have survived devastating house fires.
These blankets are not only products. They are gifts of comfort — art made useful in the most human way.
Postcards from Africa: Conservation Through Art
The Postcards from Africa range is Veronica’s love letter to the wild places, animals, landscapes, and visual stories of the African continent.
This collection carries the spirit of safari, conservation, and deep respect for the natural world. Through images inspired by Africa’s wildlife and wilderness, NJIA shares a visual connection between European homes and the wild places that inspired the art.
As this range grows, a portion of income from selected Postcards from Africa products may be directed for the benefit of the K9 anti-poaching unit in the Kruger National Park. This allows the collection to carry not only beauty, but also purpose — helping to support the protection of wildlife and the courageous work done on the ground.
Each NJIA piece carries both beauty and meaning: designed from Veronica’s original South African artwork, printed with care in the Netherlands, and created to bring comfort, story, dreams, and soul into everyday life.
